Like most householders, you have probably thought about improving your home
With energy prices rising steadily, it makes sense to improve the energy efficiency of your home.
The Energy-Smart Homes Trail was an open weekend for 13 homes and one community building in the Thornbury and Alveston area. Each has had improvements made to save energy and save money. The owners showed visitors what they have done and talked about their experiences of energy saving, efficiency control and generation.
Visitors were able to see and learn about a range of energy-saving measures and technologies in action including:
- solid and cavity wall insulation
- multiple glazing
- wood burning stoves
- solar panels
- heating controls
- efficient boilers and appliances
There was also a Hub at The Swan in Thornbury High Street, where there was help finding the homes, and expert advice on energy saving and grants and loans for energy efficiency.
